Yukon NDP Leader Kate White attends the Association for Mineral Exploration’s Virtual Roundup

Whitehorse – Yukon NDP Leader Kate White will be attending this year’s AME Roundup from Jan. 31st – Feb. 4th virtually.

“Although the conference looks different this year, it remains a great opportunity to meet with industry representatives, First Nation leaders, prospectors and  geoscience experts and hear what they have to say. It’s important that we open up the conversation as to how we envision the future of mining and mining exploration in Yukon and work together to find solutions for everyone,” said White.

White is also excited to continue to learn about new innovation and partnership strategies at the Roundup. “Since Canada adapted the United Nations  Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) last June, I’m expecting many interesting conversations about how the industry will work towards meaningful reconciliation,” said White. “With the effects of climate change, I look forward to discussions about opportunities for innovation in renewable  energy and how these can be used to minimize the impact exploration has on the environment. It will make for interesting conversations.”
