Yukon NDP announces panelists for continuing care town hall
Yukon NDP health critic Jan Stick has announced that a panel of prominent Yukon health care professionals will share their perspectives on continuing care at Wednesday’s Yukon NDP continuing care town hall.
The panel will include:
- Dr. Ken Quong, Yukon Medical Association president
- Sean Secord, Yukon Registered Nurses Association president
- Ranjit Sarin, Vimy Heritage Housing Society president
“The Yukon government’s proposed 300-bed continuing care facility is stirring up conversation,” said Stick. “Long-term care beds are just one part of the bigger picture, from home care to palliative care. I look forward to hearing from this expert panel about what Yukon needs to provide high-quality, accessible care to our seniors and Elders.”
In keeping with the consultative nature of the town hall, the public event will also include a question and answer period that is open to the public.
For Stick, the goal is to have a frank and open discussion about how Yukon can build a sustainable and effective public health care system for seniors and Elders.
“Let’s get this right,” added Stick. “Come have your say on Wednesday.”
