Whitehorse, August 11, 2022 – Whitehorse Centre MLA Emily Tredger is calling on the Yukon Government to release more details about their plan for Puckett’s Gulch ahead of a September 12th public hearing.
The government has requested that the City of Whitehorse rezone a parcel of land on the Eastern edge of the Whitehorse airport to accommodate the extension of a runway to comply with new Transport Canada regulations.
“Government has not done their homework. Expecting citizens to speak to a project at a public hearing when so little detail has been provided is unreasonable” said Emily Tredger, MLA for Whitehorse Centre.Read more

Whitehorse, June 1st, 2022 – Yukon NDP leader Kate White is calling on the Yukon Government to follow British Columbia and apply to the Federal Government for decriminalization of personal possession of illicit drugs in the territory.
John Horgan’s BCNDP Government received approval from Health Canada on May 31st for the partial decriminalization of opioids, cocaine, methamphetamine and MDMA. As of January 31st, 2023, British Columbians aged 18 years or older will be allowed to possess up to 2.5 grams of illicit drugs for personal use.Read more

Whitehorse, April 14th – Tomorrow will mark the one-year anniversary of the Midwifery Regulation coming into effect in the Yukon. This means it has been a year since Yukon midwives were last able to practice in the territory.
The new regulations require midwives to be registered for at least one year in another Canadian jurisdiction in order to practice in the Yukon. This prevented local midwives from practicing in the territory the day the regulations came into force.Read more
